Wasting Time

Friday, August 14th, 2009

In yet another effort to keep myself busy, I’ve ordered some EL Wire from The Glow Company.  I thought it might be fun to play with in a long exposure shot.

The effects you can get are neat, but I’m not sure of the practical applications yet.  Will need to play around more I suspect.

QE II Bridge

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Well, it’s been a crappy week.  I’m optomistic that it will get better, but you never know.

In the meantime, my little camera friend is keeping me busy.  I went out with Neal and his father in hopes that we could get some nice sunset shots of the QE II bridge.  I’m not really one to get overly excited about bridges, but Neal offered to drive and I needed to get out of the house, so here we are.

The first two are HDR images and the third is done with a single off camera flash & shoot through umbrella. Nothing too exciting here.

Water Droplets

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

I had some free time the other day so I thought I’d try my hand at making a few water droplets.  There were quite a few shots that turned out ok, but to be honest they all looked about the same.  Here are three that I quite liked (and I would usually link to the gallery here, but I’ve only uploaded 3 images so there’s no real need).

Christmas randoms.

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I had a bit of a hectic weekend getting ready for Christmas, but I did manage to get a few shots off around the house.  It’s nothing too exciting, but they’re a bit festive at least.

I also got out the tripod and tried a shoot I’ve been thinking about for a while now.  The first attempt was ok, but I think I need to do it again during the day time to really get the effect I’m looking for.

Poor Oswald looks a bit nervous…

Aachen Christmas Markets

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Just spent the past weekend with my friends Alex & Elaine wandering the streets of Aachen browsing their christmas markets, drinking German beer and fighting off crowds.  Apart from the nearly 2 hour delay in Brussels coming home (fortunately we had travel Scrabble, thanks Elaine!), it was a great couple of days even if I didn’t get nearly as much christmas shopping done as I would have liked.

As usual, couple photos here and the rest are in the gallery.
