Cornwall

August 26th, 2008

With Marnie on her last few weeks with the company car, we decided to head out to Cornwall for the long weekend to get away from the city and do some exploring/camping.  We managed the exploring alright, traveling at random to whatever sounded interesting on the map.  The camping part was a big soggy, and it never really feels like camping without a campfire (which you can’t do here it seems).

Anyways, as you can imagine I had my camera & tripod along for the ride and many photos were taken.  Here are a couple, and the rest are here.

Czech Fashion Shoot

July 27th, 2008

I’ve finally gotten around to making a quick post about the course I took in July.  It was a week long outing with Ross Perkins of AClassPhotos, which encompassed a lot of different things.  Lots of off camera lighting like I was hoping, but also posing models, location scouting and a healthy dose of photoshop training.

It was a great trip as well as a great learning experience.  Prague & Brno are really cool cities and I’m pretty sure you could spend your whole life there and not run out of places to shoot.  Plus, it’s always nice to be able to get out in a city with big cameras, lighting stands & gear and not get chased off by the police or security guards.  Some days, London can really suck for things like that.

Those are a few of my favourite photos from the week…the rest can be found here.

A couple panoramas from Prague

July 18th, 2008

I’ve got a heap of photos to post from my holiday in the Czech Republic, but here are 2 panoramas from my hotel of the Prague skyline to hold over until I get around to posting the model shots.

Happy Canada Day!

July 1st, 2008

Once again there were Canada Day celebrations in Trafalgar Square this year.  It was similar to last years event with two notable exceptions.

1. There was only 1 beer tent.  If you’re not sure why this would be a problem, imagine telling 15,000 Canadians they’ll be able to buy Canadian beer for one day only, and then try to serve them all with 4 bartenders.

2. Apart from the very last act, the music was awful!  Well, not awful as I can appreciate the musical talent that was there.  It was just sleepy music, and we were all there to party and have a good time.  I almost died when the one woman started yodeling…how is that in any way Canadian??

Anyways, camerea was in hand so here’s a quick few shots.

The rest are here!

Panoramas

June 21st, 2008

I’ve been playing around with some panoramas lately, here’s the first two.

They’re pretty easy to piece together in Photoshop and I like the effect, so I imagine I’ll be doing more.
